My Services

“I am there to help a woman, just like her mother or father was when she learned to ride a bicycle.  I am like the parent who held on to the back of the bicycle until the rider had some experience and felt safe and turned around to see that she had been riding on her own for quite some time”.  Sheila Kitzinger

My aim as your Doula is to build a relationship based on trust, compassion and unconditional support.

I support women whatever their birth preferences. Whether this is your first baby or you have given birth before, every birth and postnatal experience is unique. Birth and parenthood can be physically and emotionally exhausting butt with the right support the experience can be enriched enormously.

As your Doula my role involves building a relationship based on trust, compassion and unconditional support enabling you to have the most empowering and satisfying journey into motherhood possible.

Personally, I do not believe there is a right or wrong way to give birth and /or feed your baby. This is your birth and your journey and I am there to support and empower you in your choice, wherever or however you choose to give birth.

I am a Recognised Birth Doula with Doula UK having undertaken the Doula UK Recogntion Process.

I offer the following packages to cover your pregnancy, birth and postnatal needs:

Pregnancy Support Package

Pregnancy can be hard work, particularly in the weeks leading up to your birth.

You may feel you would benefit from a little extra support with anything from light household duties to shopping, preparing meals, driving to appointments or help with siblings.

Alternatively you may wish to chat through any concerns about your birth, receive help with preparation for labour, explore your birth choices or ask any unanswered questions.

Antenatal Support - £18 per hour plus mileage costs (over 5 miles).

Birth Doula Package

As your birth Doula, I am there to provide loyalty and support to you and your family, helping to empower you to fulfill your goals for your birth experience and to make it as positive as it can be.

To find out how hiring a birth Doula can benefit you and your family, I offer a free initial consultation to talk through my package and answer any questions you have.

In Brief the Birth Doula Package includes:

Birth Preparation

· At least two antenatal visits (usually 1 to 2 hours) in the comfort of your own home.  This will allow us to get to know each other, discuss your birth wishes and any concerns you have. We will take time to reflect on any previous pregnancies and births and discuss what you expect from me as your Doula and how I can tailor my support to your individual needs.

· A personalised Birth Wishes document outlining all your birth wishes.

· I will be on call for the birth and to answer any questions 24/7 usually from 38 weeks until week 42.

· FREE loan of a birthing ball to help with optimal foetal positioning and support in labour.

· FREE loan of a TENS machine from 38 weeks until after you have given birth.

- FREE use of my lending library of over 50 books and publications for all clients.

- 4 WEEK BIRTH POOL HIRE (WITH NEW LINER) - £75

Labour Support

I shall:

· Be with you as soon as you feel you need my support.

· Offer supportive care and encouragement through your labour ensuring your birth wishes are respected as much as safely possible.

· Help to protect and establish a calm birth environment, be it at home or hospital.

· Provide practical help with positions, relaxation, pain management, breathing techniques and comfort measures.

· Remain with you after the birth until you are comfortable and settled, often until after the first feed (I am happy to support both breast and bottle feeding).

After Birth

- One postnatal visit usually within 7-10 days of your birth, where we will celebrate your birth, have a cup of tea (made by me!) and reflect on your experience.  You can also ask any questions you may have and hopefully I can sneak in a cuddle!

· A home cooked meal delivered at my postnatal visit.

· Further postnatal support can be arranged upon request, should it be required.

My current fee for the Birth Package is £750 including all mileage and expenses.

I will provide a standard contract at the point of booking and receipts for all payments.

Postnatal Doula Package

To find out how hiring a postnatal Doula can benefit you and your family, I offer a free initial consultation to talk through my services, answer any questions you may have and see if I am the right Doula for you.

Women are not meant to shoulder the responsibility of motherhood alone.  As your postnatal Doula, I am there to offer support during those special early weeks with your newborn baby to enable you to enjoy your baby, recover from the birth and make the transition to life with your new addition as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

I offer a very flexible support service and hours can be geared to the level of support needed but generally three to four times a week, for a minimum of three hours per day usually up to six weeks (but subject to individual requirements).

Whether you need to catch up on sleep, take a bath, be driven to postnatal appointments, sit and talk through any concerns or worries, have a meal prepared, need help with light housework or require support with feeding, I can tailor my role to suit your individual needs  (you might prefer I leave the gardening to you though!).

My current fee for postnatal work is £18 per hour (plus mileage costs over 5 miles)

Various Postnatal Packages available.  Please call or email me for details.

I will provide a standard contract at the time of booking and provide receipts for all payments.
